Make a Donation

Only 15% of people in Ireland with Osteoporosis are diagnosed, leaving 280,000 without a diagnosis. Your donation will go toward making a significant difference to the care we can provide.

Information:

The IOS Charity runs the National Osteoporosis Helpline and the National Osteoporosis website. The charity assists those diagnosed with Osteoporosis, those at risk and carers of people living with Osteoporosis.

The Charity receives €4,252 a year from the Heath Service Executive (HSE). All other funds must be raised to cover the cost of all services. Since only 15% of people are diagnosed, your donation will make a significant difference to us.

If you are a PAYE taxpayer, you can make your donation to the Irish Osteoporosis Society Charity stretch even further. IOS can claim back tax on gifts at your highest rate of income tax. With the government’s scheme of tax relief, if you give the Charity a donation over €250 in any given tax year, the Charity can increase this donation by as much as 72%.

If you are able to donate €250 (or €21 a month) in any one year, we can then claim back your tax at the end of the year. This allows your donation to grow to €430 if you are in the higher tax bracket, or €315 if you are in the bracket below. All donations in excess of €250 per annum are eligible for a refund from the Revenue, which would be paid directly to Irish Osteoporosis Society Charity.
