Osteoporosis Awareness in the office
Would like to help raise funds for the Irish Osteoporosis Society and at the same time raise awareness of Osteoporosis, in your office?
Does your Employer run health days or have information seminars?
If yes, then why don’t you suggest holding a Osteoporosis awareness lecture? Since Osteoporosis is commonly known as “the old lady’s disease” you could help us raise awareness that it affect 1 in 4 men, 1 in 2 women and even affects children.
The good news is that it is preventable and treatable in the majority of cases. It is a debilitating, painful condition if it is not diagnosed; however we have 90 year olds who have improved their bones after one year on treatment.
We offer a 45 minute presentation followed by questions and answers. Those attending the lecture will leave knowing if they or their family members are at risk, what they need to do and how to prevent this silent disease.
Does your employer have a grant-making committee?
If so, we could make an application to fund one of the Osteoporosis awareness projects. Your company could help us to prevent people from getting Osteoporosis and/or to give advice and support to those who have been diagnosed.
